THE IDEA:
Microsoft has acknowledged that SharePoint's tools for social media behind the firewall are not best of breed. Yes, it has basic blogs and wikis, but it isn't engineered to promote transparency of information within the firm and ease of administration. What is your experience with SharePoint's tools for Enterprise 2.0? What are best practices for dealing with SharePoint's limitations? Is the right approach to supplement SharePoint's native functionality with third-party tools or should you use a different platform altogether?
